On Ambessa, Q1 and E are often there to place the trade rather than finish it, so use them to set up the passive auto and a clean Q2 instead of dashing straight through the opponent and turning your own spacing into a long fight they wanted
If R lands while the target is already in auto range, cancel the instinctive extra lunge and go R -> stop -> Q or AA -> R -> Q, because a lot of Ambessa kills get thrown by post-ult movement that knocks the target out of your Q sweet spot
Her better top games come from using side waves to pull one defender or peel layer out of place, then ulting into the bent fight that creates, which fits both mains advice and the recent data showing much stronger structure-pressure payoff than early roam payoff against similar mobile tops
When you fall behind, stop trying to recreate the lane you wanted and start trimming the parts of Ambessa's kit that become expensive mistakes. Use Q1 and E to collect space and farm without committing to the full trade, save W for the hit that would lock you into a losing exchange, and be much pickier about when you press R. The goal is to keep your wave and health stable enough to reach the next side wave and one clean ult window, not to force your way back with repeated all-ins. You can still matter later if you stop donating extra deaths trying to fix the game in one rotation.
Entering an attack or movement command while casting an ability will cause Ambessa to dash a short distance once the ability is cast, granting her next attack bonus range, damage, and attack speed, and refunding energy.
Ambessa sweeps her twin drakehounds in a semicircle in front of her, dealing bonus damage to enemies hit by the blades. Striking an enemy will transform the next cast of this ability for a short period of time, causing her to slam her twin drakehounds down in a line in front of her, dealing bonus damage to the first enemy hit.
Ambessa gains a shield, briefly braces herself, and then slams the ground to damage nearby enemies. If she blocked any non-minion damage while bracing herself, this ability will deal increased damage.
Ambessa whips her twin drakehounds around herself, damaging and slowing nearby enemies. Initiating Drakehound's Step from this ability causes her to strike a second time at the end of its dash.
Ambessa blinks to the farthest enemy champion in a line of her choosing and suppresses them upon her arrival. She then slams the enemy into the ground where they take damage and are stunned.
